Main Event Wesley Chapel: Laser Tag & Arcade Stem Labs

This event is a structured math and science enrichment experience, combining hands on labs with guided instruction and teacher created extension activities. Students will participate in two facilitated STEM labs led by Main Event staff, followed by additional enrichment designed by a certified teacher to deepen understanding and application.

Check in with Suzanne Mechler upon arrival, more details will also be emailed to the parent prior to the event.

Laser Tag Lab: focus on Science: Reflection and Refraction

Students will explore the scientific principles of reflection and refraction through a guided laser tag experience. Each student will first participate in a focused activity using mirrors inside the arena to observe how light changes direction and can be used strategically. After guided practice, students will apply these concepts during gameplay, using reflection to make predictions and improve outcomes. The session concludes with a discussion connecting their observations to scientific concepts and vocabulary.

Arcade Lab: focus on Math and Science: Energy, Percentages, and Variables

This multi part lab engages students in applied mathematics and physics through interactive stations:

  • Air Hockey: Kinetic and potential energy in motion

  • Basketball: Percentages, accuracy, and variables affecting outcomes

  • Skee Ball: Variables, prediction, and pattern recognition

Students will rotate through each station with guided questioning from the facilitator, encouraging critical thinking, estimation, and real time problem solving.

Extended Learning and Application In addition to the labs, students will receive:

  • Two additional hours of bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, and billiards with a structured enrichment activity connecting them to math and science concepts and physical education.

  • A ten dollar game card to continue exploring cause and effect, variables, and strategic thinking through arcade games.

  • A certified teacher designed enrichment packet with additional activities to reinforce math and science concepts before, during, and after the event.

This experience is intentionally designed to connect real world environments with academic concepts in math and science, providing meaningful enrichment that extends beyond the classroom.
